Bettie Morgan

Bettie Irene Morgan, age 78, of Portland, passed away Tuesday morning at Persimmon Ridge Healthcare.

She was born in Jay County on Aug. 28, 1940, the daughter of Don Ray and Jessie (Smith) Fifer. She was married to Jim Weaver, Wayne Nuckols and Edwin Morgan, who all preceded her in death.

She was retired from pre-Mix in Portland.

She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and attended Portland High School.

Surviving are one son, Sonny Nuckols (wife: Cindy) of Parker City; one daughter, Joyce Duke of Portland; step-son Edwin Morgan Jr. (wife: Nancy) of Muncie; one brother, Richard Fifer (wife: Janet) of Bryant; three sisters Mary Ullom (husband: Voyd) of Portland, Ruth Glassford (husband: Dick) of Portland and Florence Hassan of Portland; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Hundley presiding. Burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.
