Charles Ferguson

Charles Albert Ferguson, 79, of Portland, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence, with family by his side.

He was born Dec. 22, 1938, in Grassy Creek, Kentucky, the son of John Everett and Della Rae (Ross) Ferguson.

Charles retired in 2002 after 36 years with Indiana Glass of Dunkirk, Indiana. He was a member of the Dunkirk Crown City Cruisers.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Connie J (Stephen) Ferguson; six children, Phillip Anthony Ferguson of Portland, Indiana, Deborah C. Ferguson of Hartford City, Indiana, Tracy Michelle Ferguson of Portland, Indiana, Lisa Joann Curtis of Portland, Indiana, Lorie Jean Gregory of Portland, Indiana, and Allen Eugene Ferguson of Bryant, Indiana; siblings, Paul Ferguson (wife: Sandy), Mary Reeves, Cecil Ferguson, Betty Jean Willoughby, Elizabeth Hart, Mike Ferguson (wife: Shelly) and Jenny Hunt (husband: David); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Timothy Robyn Ferguson; two brothers, John and Kenneth; a sister, Carol Curd; three brothers-in-law, Roger Reeves, Sydney Willoughby and Eddie Hart; and a sister-in-law, Sarah Ferguson.

A service to celebrate Charlie’s life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept.14, 2018, at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Dunkirk Memorial Chapel, 317 N. Main St. Dunkirk, Indiana, with Marion Donathan officiating. Burial will follow in Black Cemetery of Dunkirk, Indiana.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
