Ronald Journay

Ronald “Ron” William Journay, 68, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at his residence.

Ron was born in Portland, Indiana, on Aug. 16, 1950, to William and Marie (Bischoff) Journay. Ron was united in marriage to Rita J. Aspy on May 23, 1981.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Journay of Decatur; mother Marie Journay of Decatur; son Brandon (Shu) Journay of Bedford, Texas; two daughters, Stephanie (Jon) Rice of Noblesville, Indiana, and Christine Journay of Indianapolis, Indiana; two brothers, Rex (Carolyn) Journay of Bryant, Indiana, and Rick (Judy) Journay of Bellevue, Ohio; three grandchildren, Maverick D. Rice, Mason William Rice and Maeve Han Journay.

He was preceded in death by his father William Journay.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, with calling one hour prior to service from 10 to 11 a.m. Pastor Clint Holloway will be officiating and burial will be in Salamonia Cemetery, Portland.

Memorials are to Hanna Nuttman Park Project or Grandchildren’s Education Fund.
