Fined and sentenced
Gage A. Kidwell, 20, 120 N. Johnson St., Apartment 2, Bluffton, pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, a Class B misdemeanor — Sentenced to 180 days in Jay County Jail with all but 20 days suspended. He will serve the remaining time beginning Sept. 2, 2020, consecutively to the sentences imposed for two felony convictions in Madison County. Assessed court costs of $185.50 and placed on formal probation for five months upon his release from jail. As part of a plea agreement, a charge of operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license, a Class C misdemeanor, was dismissed.
Ashley D. Bruss, 22, 601 E. Jackson St., Eaton, was found in violation of her conditional discharge on the charge of possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor — Sentenced to Jay County Jail for 180 days with all but 20 days suspended and given six days credit for three days served. Assessed court costs of $185, ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200 and placed on formal probation for six months. She originally pleaded guilty to the charge and was placed on conditional discharge on Oct. 24.
Daniel M. Sanchez, 25, 5980 Burkettsville-St. Henry Road, Celina, Ohio, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor — Sentenced to Jay County Jail for 60 days with all but two days suspended and given two days credit for one day served. Assessed court costs of $185.50, ordered to pay an alcohol and drug countermeasures fee of $200 and a substance abuse program fee of $400 and placed on formal probation for six months. As part of a plea agreement, a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with an alcohol concentration equivalent of .08 percent or more, a Class C misdemeanor, was dismissed.
