Registration open for cultural classes
A Portland-based organization is offering opportunities to learn about Native American culture.
Registration is now open for The National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture’s cultural arts classes, which will be held April 27 and 28.
Four classes — survival skills, quilled fire striker hanger, fire starting and seed beads and trade beads are being offered for those ages 12 and older. There will be a children’s class featuring crafts such as corn husk dolls, rainsticks and jewelry.
The class fee is $50 for members and $75 for non-members. The fee for the children’s class is $20, plus $5 for materials.

Registration is open for several summer camps being held at Minnetrista in Muncie.
The list of activities includes a culinary kids camp June 3 through 7, a junior chefs camp June 10 through 14, a glass artists camp June 17 through 21 and a creative kids glass camp June 24 through 28. The fee for the camps, which meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is $200, with the exception of the glass camp, which is $250.

Seeking nominees
The Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame is seeking nominees for this year’s class.
In order to be eligible, an individual must have been born in Indiana, entered military service in Indiana or lived in Indiana for a minimum of eight years.
Those who served in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces will be considered.
