Several local organizations are partnering with Indiana Youth Institute for an event this week.
“Adverse Childhood Experiences: Understanding the Impact and Building Resiliency” will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Indiana University Health Jay Hospital. Meridian Health Services, Prevent Child Abuse Council and the hospital are teaming with IYI for the program.
Skye Berger, chief encouragement officer and executive creative coach of Door Opener Academy, will speak about adverse childhood experiences that can lead to negative outcomes. Her talk will feature information from the Centers for Disease Control-Kaiser Permanente Adverse Childhood Experiences Study.

Summit is Thursday
A Farm Bill Summit is scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at Versailles High School, 280 Marker Road, Versailles, Ohio.
The summit will be an in-depth examination of government policy and how it applies to farmers on a daily basis. Speakers will be Keith Coble of Mississippi State University, Jonathan Coppess of the University of Illinois and Patrick Westhoff of the University of Missouri.

Hosting workshops
Family LifeCare will host three grief healing workshops from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, as well as April 18 and 25 at its office, 108 S. Jefferson St., Berne. The sessions are intended for adults only and reservations are not required. For more information, call Jeff Luttrell at 1-(800) 355-2817.
Course scheduled
The offices of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for Mercer and Auglaize counties are hosting a Weather Spotter Course. It provides training on how to identify weather threats, such as tornados.
The class will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Wright State University – Lake Campus’ Dicke Hall, 7600 Lake Campus Drive, Celina, Ohio. The session is free and does not require registration.
Eat healthy
As part of its My Health program, Mercer Health is hosting an “Eating the Rainbow” presentation at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mercer Health West Campus in Coldwater, Ohio.
The event will focus on eating healthy by incorporating fruits and vegetables of a variety of colors.

Seminar set
Jay County Public Library will host a pair of seminars, with two sessions each, this month in partnership with Meridian Services.
The second session of “Understanding the Risk and Protection Factors in Mental Health” is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday. It will cover learning how personal history and stress can impact mental health.
“Understanding Depression and Anxiety in Teens and Youth” will follow at 6 p.m. April 18 and 10 a.m. April 25. These sessions will focus on learning common behavioral traits to look for and options for treatment.
