Indiana University Health is planning to increase its Fort Wayne presence.
The Hoosier health system, parent company of Indiana University Health Jay Hospital, announced this week it will open two new offices in Fort Wayne.
The larger project is a new 25,000-square foot medical office, which will house primary care, outpatient imaging, laboratory services, urgent care and community rooms. Construction on the $10 million facility is expected to start in May and be completed by the end of 2020. It will be located at Stellhorn and Lehmeyer roads on the northeast side of the city.
IU Health is also opening an office in an existing building at 10215 Auburn Road. The primary care clinic is expected to open in July.
The two offices will have space for at least 16 primary care providers, The Journal Gazette reported.
Making progress
McDonald’s is one-third of the way to its goal of using only cage-free eggs, the company announced last week.
In a press release, McDonald’s announced that 33 percent of its egg suppliers in the United States have been converted to cage-free. In 2015, it made a 10-year commitment to source all of its eggs from cage-free farms by 2025.
The fast-food chain uses more than 2 billion eggs a year.
Brazil expansion
Two of Ardagh Group’s facilities in Brazil will be expanding over the next year.
Ardagh, the parent company of glass container plants in Dunkirk and Winchester, announced its plans to expand production at its Jacareí and Manaus facilities. The projects will meet a growing demand for infinitely recyclable and sustainable aluminum packaging, the press release said.
The project at the year-old Manaus can ends facility will be completed this year. The expansion for the Jacareí can facility, which has been operating at full capacity since 2017, will be completed in early 2020.
Calling truce?
Google and Amazon have seemingly ended their video streaming feud.
The companies jointly announced this week that the YouTube app will be available on Amazon’s Fire TV products later this year, and that Google’s Chromecast and Android TV services will offer support for the Amazon Prime Video app
According to The Verge, Fire TV has not had a native YouTube app for more than a year. The spat began in 2017 as both companies refused to support the other’s streaming services and Amazon stopped selling several Google-affiliated products.
As a result of the new agreement, Fire TV will also support YouTube TV and YouTube Kids later this year.
Cleaning up
Yum! Brands announced it plans to assess its efforts to reduce pollution.
The parent company of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC announced it is working with a consulting firm to assess its greenhouse gas emissions. It will also look into purchasing renewable energy. The announcement came after a shareholder proposal urged the company to explore the possibility of using renewable energy, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported Thursday.
