OWI, possession 

A Portland woman was sentenced in Jay Superior Court for several charges. 

Ana V. Perez-Cavanzon, 22, 128 E. Water St., pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor. For the possession charge, she was sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 60 days suspended and given two days credit for one day served. Court costs were waived and she was ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200 and a substance abuse program fee of $400. She was placed on formal probation for 10 months. For the OWI, she was ordered to serve 60 days in Jay County Jail concurrent with the first charge and was given two days credit for one day served. She was assessed court costs of $185 and an alcohol and drug countermeasures fee of $200. A charge of possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor, was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. 

In a separate case, Perez-Cavanzon pleaded guilty to possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony. She was sentenced to Jay County Jail for one year and given two days credit for one day served. Her sentence will begin May 10. She was assessed court costs of $185 and a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200. As part of a plea agreement, charges of maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, were dismissed. 

Charges of domestic battery, a Level 6 felony, and driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor, were also dismissed in separate Jay Superior Court cases. 



Possession 

A Portland man pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to a drug possession charge. 

Robert J. Fuller, 29, 615 N. Middle St., pleaded guilty to possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to Jay County Jail for 18 months and was given four days credit for two days served. He was also credited for time served from March 4 and assessed court costs of $185. As part of a plea agreement, charges of resisting law enforcement and unlawful possession of a syringe, Level 6 felonies, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, were dismissed. 

In a separate case, a charge of possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, was dismissed.



Forgery 

A Portland woman’s sentence for forgery in Jay Superior Court includes a restitution payment of almost $4,000. 

Kaili R. Baughman, 22, 1362 W. Arch St., pleaded guilty to forgery, a Level 6 felony. She was sentenced to Jay County Jail for one year with all but 234 days suspended and given 234 days credit for 117 days served. She was ordered to pay restitution of $3,730.77. She was also assessed court costs of $185 and placed on formal probation for 131 days. As part of a plea agreement, a second charge of forgery, a Level 6 felony, was dismissed.
