Fuquas earn lifetime honor

Local leaders were honored Saturday at the Dunkirk Elks’ annual community awards banquet.
Rock and Kathy Fuqua, owners of Fuqua Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. That follows the couple being presented last month with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Jay County Community Awards.
Jack Robbins, a Dunkirk City Council member, was named Dunkirk Citizen of the Year. Mark Leavell of Redkey Fun for Kids earned the Outstanding Community Service Award.
Derek Rodgers, who chairs the organization’s hoop shoot program, was named Elk of the Year. Albert Polson was honored as Elk Officer of the Year.

Fort Wayne Philharmonic will present a multimedia concert celebrating George and Ira Gershwin at 7:30 p.m. May 11 at Embassy Theatre as part of the Sweetwater Pops Series.
The event will feature pianist Richard Glazier and vocalists Natalie Cordone and Michael Andrew. Tickets start at $29 and are available at fwphil.org.
