Limberlost State Historic Site has a busy weekend in the works.
The site will host a Creatures of the Night event at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve followed by the exhibit “Threshing the Grain: Revealing the Life of a 19th Century Farm Woman” on Saturday at the site’s visitor’s center.
Those attending the nature event at the preserve, 8323 N. 250 West, Bryant, will listen for frog calls and learn about nocturnal underwater creatures. There will also be a campfire and marshmallow roasting.
Saturday’s exhibit will feature displays highlighting the life of farm women in Indiana in the mid 1800s. Former Indiana poet laureate Shari Wagner will also share some of her works at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Admission to the nature event is $3 for children and $4 for adults. There is an additional $1 fee for non-members. The history exhibit is free of charge.

Hosting show
Tom Cherry’s Old Time Radio Show will return to Farmland Community Center at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The League of the Blind and Disabled will hold a Visual Impairment Support Group at Swiss Village in Berne.

Registration open
Registration is now open for The National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture’s cultural arts classes, which will be held April 27 and 28.
Survival skills, quilled fire striker hanger and fire starting classes are being offered for those 12 and older. There will be a children’s class featuring crafts such as corn husk dolls, rainsticks and jewelry.
