Marjorie Saxman

Marjorie J. Saxman, age 89, a resident of Portland, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Indiana.

She worked at Jay Garment for several years and was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Portland. She enjoyed going to area flea markets and garage sales.

Marjorie Saxman was born June 15, 1929, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of Laurel and Inez (Caylor) Warnock. She was married Dec. 30, 1945, to Howard Saxman. He passed away on May 27, 2003.

Survivors include:

One son — Vernon Saxman (wife: Ingrid), Portland, Indiana

One daughter — Sharon Fowler (husband: Mick), Portland, Indiana

Four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Wayne Ward will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
