South Adams precision machining classes students have again proved to be some of the best in the state.
Two current SAHS students and one graduate earned first-place honors April 19 and 20 at the 2019 Skills USA state contest.
Luke Yoder took first place in the CNC Milling Specialist competition while Austin McKibben was first in the CNC Turning Specialist competition.
South Adams graduate Mason Sell, now a student at Purdue Fort Wayne, picked up a win the Post-Secondary Mill competition.
Also competing an placing third in the CNC Turning Specialist competition was Luke Egly of Adams Central.
Elected
Jay County Humane Society elected new officers at its April 18 annual meeting, with Mindy Weaver chosen as president. Vice president is Rita Lutes, treasurer is Judy Zearbaugh and Vicki Leonard is the secretary.
Breakfast set
Swiss Village in Berne will celebrate National Older Americans Month with a Senior Breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. May 3.
