Damaged
A Lagro man’s car sustained between $1,000 and $2,500 in damage when he ignored a road closed barrier for bridge work on U.S. 27 near county road 500 North and drove into a section of bridge that had been dug out several feet.
Kerry L. Harmon, 63, was cited by Jay County Sheriff’s Office for ignoring the road closed barrier. The accident occurred about 8:55 a.m. Thursday.
Strikes deer
A Portland man’s vehicle struck a deer early Monday on U.S. 27 in Adams County.
Brody D. Speed, 23, was northbound between Adams County road 1100 South and road 1200 South when the deer ran into the front driver’s side bumper of his vehicle. Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
