Recitals start this weekend

Arts Place MusicWorks students will hold their spring recitals and concerts in May, with the first set of recitals scheduled for May 4.

Recitals for students who have received individual instruction will be at 10 a.m. (piano, voice and guitar) and 12:30 p.m. (string, wind and percussion) on May 4.

Instrumental ensembles will perform in concert at 7 p.m. May 8, and community choir A Choired Taste will perform at 7 p.m. May 20.

FR takes 3rd

At the state competition in Columbus, Fort Recovery FFA’s agronomy team turned in a third-place finish.

Competitors had to identify weeds, seeds and insects. They also made recommendations for fertilizer and herbicide use.

Team members were Megan Bergman, Ashley Dues, Natalie Fortkamp, Claudia Jones, Ray Keller, Britney Klenke, Brooke Knapke, Caleb Lennartz, Kayla Lennartz, Emily Merrill, Kendra Metzger, Kalib Post, Shai Rodriguez, and Paige Timmerman. Kayla Lennarts placed ninth individually out of 116 participants.
