Sunday afternoon will be for strumming.
Limberlost State Historic Site will host the Limberlost Bluegrass Jamboree from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the site, 200 E. 6th St., Geneva.
The free event features musicians who perform on a volunteer basis. Everyone is welcome to perform acoustic music solo or in groups.
Refreshments will be provided, and attendees are invited to bring a lawn chair.

Concert scheduled
Minnetrista will host Muncie Symphony Orchestra for its Picnic and Pops concert at 7 p.m. Aug. 21.

Take a trip
The Arthur & Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion in Berne is offering a bus trip for those 55 and older.
Participants will travel to North Webster Lake to ride the Dixie Boat on Aug. 22. The cost is $15, with the boat tour and lunch included.

Apply for Lilly
The Portland Foundation is now accepting applications for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.
The Lilly scholarship is open to high school seniors. It provides tuition to any Indiana college in addition to a yearly stipend for books and equipment.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ new Muncie Altrusa Foundation Beulah Frogge Digital Arts Studio will have its grand opening Aug. 24 with a stop-motion workshop led by Disney artist and animator Brad Condie.
There will be a session from 1 to 3 p.m. for 8- to 11-year-olds and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for 12- to 15-year-olds.

Field day scheduled
Davis-Purdue Ag Center’s Field Day is scheduled for Aug. 29.
The event, which will begin at 8 a.m., will include sessions about hitch pins, weed management, a corn update and a soybean update. There will be a forest management tour in the afternoon.

Our Home Family Resource Center is accepting donations for its Mercer County Back-to-School Supply Drive. Items needed include folders, glue, markers, pencils, crayons, paper, erasers, scissors, dry-erase markers, highlighters and earbuds. They will be donated to Mercer County students.
