Helen Crosbie
Helen M. Crosbie, age 97, a longtime Pennville resident, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, at Hamilton Trace in Fishers, Indiana.
She was born June 27, 1922, the daughter of Cleo and Gertrude (Cooper) Moses. She was married Aug. 4, 1946, to James F. Crosbie and he preceded her in death.
She was a bookkeeper, retiring in 1991 from First National Bank. She had also worked for Citizens Bank, Norris Feed and Grain and Pennville Custom Cabinets.
She graduated from Michigan Center High School in Michigan Center, Michigan.
She was a member of Pennville United Methodist Church, Delta Theta Tau sorority, Pennville O.E.S., Pennville American Legion Auxiliary, Pennville Township Library Board, Jay County Hospital Auxiliary and Enavant Club. She was also the former librarian in Pennville.
Surviving are one son, John C. Crosbie (wife: Kathy) of Dunkirk; one daughter, Pamela Robinette (husband: Larry) of Fishers; one sister, Dorothy Morse of Toledo, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Phillips presiding. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
