Jerry Lee Freeman, 71, of Frankfort died Aug. 18, 2019, at his home.
He was born June 27, 1948, in Portland, Jay County, Indiana, to Stacy Freeman and Mary (Norris) Grayson. He married Margaret Ann Davis on Jan. 5, 1980, and she survives.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Japan during the Vietnam War. Jerry was a greeter at Wal-Mart for 20 years, and had worked at Old Indiana Amusement Park and Indiana Glass in Dunkirk. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing Yahtzee and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Two daughters — Michelle (William) Back of Dunkirk, Indiana, and Carrie (Greg) Newsome of Gaston, Inddiana
A sister — Phyllis (Daniel) McCowan of Redkey, Indiana
Three brothers-in-law — Bill (Jasmine) Davis of Holland, Michigan, Joe (Tamiko) Davis of Holland, Michigan Rick (Saundra) Davis of Dunkirk, Indiana
A sister-in-law — Penny Davis of Albany, Indiana
Six grandchildren — Tyler, Emily and Samantha Back, and Jacob, Kyann and Keegan Newsome
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Speidel and Mary Edwards; and two brothers, Paul Freeman and his twin, Terry Freeman.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at the Heart of Fire Church, 3000 E. Wabash St., Frankfort. A funeral celebration will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
