Dinner committee offers its thanks
Letters to the editor
To the editor:
Thank you, Jay County.
Once again you responded with open, caring hearts to the Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
The volunteers started calling early, as they were anxious to roll up their sleeves and help wherever needed.
At the same time, the local agencies, service clubs, lodges, businesses, sororities, churches and individuals were putting their plans together for lending their support as well.
When the event was over, we saw approximately 700 meals served to the homebound as well as those dining inside — our largest number yet.
Your kindness and love extended to the entire county just as the ripple effect of a rock tossed into the water.
May you find a special blessing on your lives as you have certainly blessed the lives of all your friends and neighbors.
With heartfelt thanks,
Carol Smith
