Pedestrian hit
An Albany woman was struck by a car in the MSSL Wiring Systems parking lot about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Jazzy N. Wright, 20, rural Redkey, told Portland police she was backing her 2005 Pontiac Grand Am so she could pull into a parking space at the 700 W. Industrial Drive location and did not see Joan E. Hultz, 57, Albany, walking across the lot on her way into work.
Hultz sustained injuries to her lower leg and was taken by Jay Emergency Medical Service ambulance to IU Health Jay for treatment.
Plate gone
Rhonda Clott, 1102 S. Meridian St., Portland, reported to Portland police Tuesday that the license plate from her car had been stolen.
Distracted
A Portland man was distracted by a Christmas lighting display about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday leading to a minor traffic accident. Robert B. Harrold, 78, told Portland police he was turning west onto Main Street from Park Street when his 2019 Chevrolet Cruze went off the roadway and struck a large rock beside the intersection.
Damage was estimated at less that $1,000.
Deer hit
Tara E. Herzfeld, 33, Albany, was westbound on Indiana 67 near county road 1100 West about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday when a deer ran into the path of her 2014 Chevrolet Captiva.
Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
