Help others during holiday season
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
This is the 50th year for our compassion efforts.
Fifty years ago in Redkey at the Free Methodist Church, we bought a loaf of bread for 10 cents, then passed it out all over town.
We continue this season to search for working families needing assistance. We specialize in finding families in need, going into their home to verify their needs, purchasing those items and delivering them in person.
We give no cash to anyone. If we can help with utilities, we pay directly to the company.
What an honor it is to help others.
So many good organizations in Jayland help so much every year and it takes all of us to work at this job.
Our Savior Jesus Christ was the great example as He gave His life on calvary, died in our place and for our sins.
We pray you will consider helping us help those in need. Our ministry continues though many traumas and unexpected problems put us in a position where we had to leave the church building. But we are the Church and we must continue to join with other charities as well all reach out this Christmas season.
Our 50h year of showing compassion is just like any other year — the need is great.
If the Lord lays a love offering on your heart, God bless you.
We also need canned meats, bags of potatoes, toiletries, laundry detergent, toilet paper, hams and turkeys. We will distribute them all in Jesus’ name.
God bless everyone. Join us in our 50th anniversary.
