Thanks for supporting Arts Place
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
On Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, Arts Place held its 37th annual Holiday Benefit Auction. More than $22,000 was raised to benefit the many programs at Arts Place, such as MusicWorks, ArtWorks, Arts in the Parks and the performance series.
Such an event is impossible without the work and dedication of many volunteers who all deserve the greatest thanks and praise.
As chair of the 2019 Holiday Benefit Auction Committee, I would like to express my most sincere thanks to the following: Loy´s Auctioneering, who so generously donate their services to Arts Place every year; all the donors who gave generously to this cause; my fellow committee members Michele Goldman, Elizabeth Hudson, Bonnie Maitlen and Mindy Weaver for all their hard work; Carolyn Carducci, director of development and corporate records at Arts Place, who serves as our in-house liaison and works tirelessly on the many details to ensure success; the entire staff at Arts Place who all contribute in one way or another; the humane society who volunteered man hours to prepare and serve the food; the Arts Place Corporate Board of Directors and others who donated the food to be served; Jay County Beverage for donating their products and services; the Glass Bonsai for donating coffee and tea; the German Club and the Jay Today staff for providing student volunteers to perform various needed tasks; First Merchants Bank for the use of its popcorn machine; Jay County REMC for the ice to keep things cool; WPGW and The Commercial Review for their coverage of the event.
The annual Holiday Benefit Auction, like so many other occasions, is a true testimony to the generosity of our community and region, which never ceases to amaze me. So, thank you to everyone who participated in any way and whom I may have forgotten to mention.
Please, join me again on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, for the 38th Annual Holiday Benefit Auction at Arts Place.
With my utmost gratitude and appreciation,
Anni McClung
2019 Holiday Benefit Auction Committee Chair
