MONROE — The Patriots were 1-5 through the first three weeks of the season. It took them just nine days to get back to .500.
The Jay County High School girls basketball team earned its fourth straight victory Friday 56-46 over the host Adams Central Jets.
Freshman Renna Schwieterman scored a career-high 28 points while also grabbing nine rebounds. Madison Dirksen followed with five points for the Patriots, who are 5-5 after topping New Castle on Dec. 5, Fort Recovery Dec. 7, Muncie Central on Tuesday and the Jets on Friday.
The junior varsity team lost 36-25.
FR boys rally
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery High School boys basketball team rallied from an eight-point deficit after three quarters Friday to knock off the Parkway Panthers 58-56.
Grant Knapke hit a pair of 3-pointers as he scored seven of his team-high 14 points in the final quarter. Regan Martin added 12 points for the Indians (3-1, 1-1 Midwest Athletic Conference) and Clay Schmitz had 10.
