Evelyn E. McKibben, age 93, a resident of Portland, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Center. She was a 1944 graduate of Gray High School in Jay County. She retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. in Winchester, Indiana, after 19 years.
Evelyn McKibben was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Wabash, Indiana, the daughter of Edison and Ruth (Riddleberger) French.
Survivors include:
Two sons — Gary McKibben, Geneva, Indiana, and Duane McKibben (special friend: Candy Runyon), Portland, Indiana
Several grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren
One sister — Phyllis Hammers, Portland, Indiana
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Phill Jellison will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Lawndale Cemetery, east of Ridgeville, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed to the Jay County Humane Society.
