There will be a family-oriented New Year’s Eve celebration at the Limberlost State Historic Site Visitor Center in Geneva from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
The highlight of the event is an early New Year’s balloon drop after a countdown to noon, followed by a singalong of “Auld Lang Syne.”
Children can also take balloons home with them after the event.
Before the drop, kids will make personalized noisemakers. Throughout the event, families can try their hand at carnival-style games and win New Year’s-themed items and other prizes, organizers said.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Cost for the event is $3 per youth Indiana State Museum and Historic Site members ages 3-12, $4/ per youth non-member ages 3-12, and free for children younger than age 3. Tickets will be available at the door.
