Darrell St. John

Darrell St. John, age 88, a resident of Pennville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, at Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was a longtime Knox Township farmer in Jay County and drove a school bus for Jay School Corporation. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and a member of the Hickory Grove Church of the Brethren, south of Pennville.
Darrell St. John was born May 28, 1931, in Davenport, Oklahoma, the son of Frank and Viola (Sullivan) St. John.
He was married on June 15, 1952 to Helen Shields. She preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 2019.
Survivors include:
One daughter — Connie St. John, Indianapolis, Indiana
Two sons — Randy St. John (wife: Donna), Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Jeffrey St. John (wife: Charity), Colorado Springs, Colorado
Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday. Pastor Earl Doll will officiate the services. Private burial will be held in IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery in Pennville.
