Victor E. Uhrick, age 77, a resident of Portland passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Center.
He worked at Indiana Manufacturing in Dunkirk, and was a proud veteran serving in the Indiana Army National Guard for 37 years. He was a member of the Portland American Legion Post 211 and attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Portland.
Victor Uhrick was born Oct. 4, 1942, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Cree and Treva (Batten) Uhrick.
Survivors include:
Two brothers — Larry Uhrick (wife: Lisa), Indianapolis, and James Uhrick (wife: Jerri), Bellevue, Ohio
One sister — Sonja Yohe, Portland, Indiana
His best friend — Mike Roser, Portland, Indiana
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins
He was preceded in death by his brother, Don Uhrick and his parents, Cree and Treva Uhrick.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Phill Jellison will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant, Indiana. Portland American Legion Post 211 will be in charge of military graveside rites at the cemetery.
