The Red Cross will host several blood drives this month in Jay County.
The first is scheduled from 2 to 7 p.m. Feb 19 at Redkey Elementary School, 500 W. Main St., Redkey. On Feb. 20, there will be a drive from 2 to 7 p.m. at General Shanks Elementary School, 414 E. Floral Ave., Portland. A drive is scheduled for 2 to 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at Bloomfield Elementary School, 350 E. 500 North, Bryant.

Offering
Purdue Cooperative Extension Services and Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition will host the Strengthening Families Program for families with children between the ages of 10 and 14 years old.
The seven-week program will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays starting Feb. 11 at Trinity United Methodist, 323 S. Meridian St. Each week will feature group sessions on topics such as following rules, encouraging positive behavior and protecting youth.

JCPL hosting
Jay County Public Library will also host an afternoon at the movies at 3:30 p.m. Friday with a showing of “Smallfoot.” Other events include a “crafternoon” Feb. 14, family trivia Feb. 15, a craft event Feb. 23 and a breakout game Feb. 27.
