DEFIANCE, Ohio — The Indian girls will be well represented at the district meet once again.
And this time a boy is going with them.
Fort Recovery High School’s girls swim team qualified for the Division II district meet in five individual events and two relays based on its performance from the sectional meet on Saturday at Ayersville.
The top 32 individual times and top 24 relay times across all five sectionals qualify for the district meet, which is slated for 3 p.m. Friday at Cooper Pool on the campus of Bowling Green State University.
Cassy Martin and Ava Bubp both reached district in a pair of events. Martin, a senior, was runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.07 seconds, and she broke her own school record in the 100 freestyle (54.79) to place third. Bubp had a time of 2 minutes, 5.02 seconds, to place second in the 200 freestyle and was also third in the 500 freestyle (5:47.58).
Autumn Burk had a sixth place finish in the 100 butterly (1:09.54).
Bubp, Burk and Martin teamed with Rachel Acheson to place fourth in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:48.16 before joining Shelby Stammen to take fourth in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:58.8.
Owen Sheridan was the lone boy to qualify for district, placing seventh in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.8.
Stammen had a pair of top-four finishes but did not advance one more week. She was third in the 200 individual medley and fourth in the 500 freestyle.
