Interested in being part of Jay County Civic Theatre’s next production? This week, there’s a chance to get more information.
Jay County Civic Theatre will hold an information night for those who are considering auditioning, or otherwise being involved in, its June production of “Newsies.”
The informational event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in room 205 at John Jay Center for Learning. Attendees will be able to meet with the director and other show staff, ask questions and learn more about the show.
Auditions for “Newsies” are scheduled for March 11 and 12 at Arts Place, with call backs on March 13.

Morgan Lennartz of Fort Recovery was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Indiana University.
Madison Grover and Carley Stone, both Fort Recovery residents, were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Ohio State University-Lima Campus.
Alli Campbell and Alexander Clark, both Portland residents, and Emily Jobe, Pennville, were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at University of Indianapolis. They each earned a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.
Kristen McIntosh-Thobe of Fort Recovery was named to the dean’s list at Bowling Green State University for the fall semester.
Fort Recovery resident Sophie Timmerman was named to the fall semester dean’s list at Kent State University.
Hosting drives
The Red Cross will host blood drives from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Redkey Elementary School, Wednesday at General Shanks Elementary School and Feb. 25 at Bloomfield Elementary School.
