Penny Imel, age 71, a former Portland resident, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, in Parkview Randalia in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Portland on Sept. 30, 1947, the daughter of Roy and Betty (Foster) Collins. She was married Nov. 13, 1988, to Clarence Imel, and he died March 6, 2015.
She had owned a cleaning business for 25 years.
She was a member of Eastern Star for 50 years. She was also a member of White Shrine, Amaranth and Fairview United Methodist Church. And she was a grief counselor for Hospice.
Surviving are a daughter, Angela Hayden of Fort Wayne; and a granddaughter, Marianna Vasquez of Fort Wayne.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dave McClellan presiding. Burial will be in the Reitenour Cemetery in Randolph County.
Memorials can be made to Hospice Group of Indianapolis or Jay County Public Library.
