Donald Schisler

Donald L. Schisler, age 80, of Venice, Florida, passed away on Feb. 19, 2019.

He was born in Portland, Indiana, on July 9, 1938, to Donald and Virginia Schisler. He and his wife Sharon moved from Bluffton, Indiana, to Plant City in 1990, then three months ago to Venice.

Donald was an excellent baseball and basketball player in high school and in college, earning a college scholarship for basketball. He also enjoyed playing golf and cards. Donald was a cabinet builder, making many items for his family.

Surviving family members include his wife, Sharon; sons Doug Schisler (Teresa), Tim Schisler (Cheri) and Dean Schisler; grandchildren LeeAnn, Eric, Corey, Caleb, Preston, Ryan, Danielle, Kyli, Trey, T.J. and Matt; eight-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Judy Daniels (Dan), Kay Cain (Mike) and Joan Alberson (Jim).

There will be a service on March 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nazarene church in Berne, Indiana, (604 Sprunger St.).
