Robert Taylor

Robert (Bob) E. Taylor passed away on Dec. 28 at Bethel Pointe Health Care in Muncie.

Bob was born on Nov. 4, 1937, in Muncie, the son of Mary Taylor Bedwell and stepson of Delmar (Dusty) Bedwell. He lived his early life in the Pennville area.

Bob graduated from Pennville High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Purdue University and a master’s degree in education from Ball State University.

Bob taught for many years in the Pennville and Jay School Corporation. He had a heart for helping students and a passion for coaching basketball.

After retiring from teaching, Bob worked many years at Central States.

After retirement, he managed the Hartford City Parks Department. He farmed in Pennville until the 1980s.

He was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association and the Portland Elks.

He is survived by his former wife of nearly 50 years, Susan (Bolling) Taylor; step-daughter Jan (Chad) Jones; daughter Robyn Taylor; and sons Robert J. Taylor and Ryan (Kristen) Taylor.

Preceding him in death was his daughter, Kelly Ann.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

A service will follow at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Interment will be at the Twin Hill IOOF cemetery in Pennville.
