Hanna Ault missed almost a month because of a concussion.
She returned to play in a big way.
Ault, a 2018 Jay County High School graduate, scored a career-high 16 points for the Anderson University women’s basketball team Saturday, helping the Ravens defeat Bluffton 76-69.
The freshman guard came off the bench to go 6-of-8 from the field, including 3-for-4 from long range, while splitting a pair of free throws for a new career high. She doubled her previous best she set Dec. 8 against Mount St. Joseph before missing the next three games with her head injury.
Ault also had two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 20 minutes.
She added three points, a career-high six rebounds and an assist on Wednesday as the Ravens (8-6) beat Manchester, 54-45, for their third straight win.
Ault has played in 11 games for Anderson, and averages 4.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.
Lexi Dellinger
South Adams – 2018
Averaged nearly 20 points per game in her last three contests for the Anderson University women’s basketball team.
The former Starfire scored 27 points during a win Jan. 2 against Defiance in double overtime, 75-74. She was 9-of-25 from the field with four 3-pointers while also going 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Three days later she had 17 points in a 76-69 win over Bluffton before totaling 15 points in a 54-45 triumph over Manchester on Wednesday.
Dellinger has started all 14 games for the Ravens and is averaging nearly 17 points per game. She is 82.1 percent (55-of-67) from the free-throw line, grabs almost four rebounds and dishes three assists per game.
Catherine Dunn
Jay County – 2015
Began 2019 by scoring 14 or more points in three straight games for the Brescia University women’s basketball team in a trio of losses.
The senior was 4-of-13 from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers, and made half of her 10 free throws to finish with 15 points in the Bearcats’ 84-67 loss to Rio Grande on Jan. 3. Dunn also had four rebounds and a team-best four assists.
Two days later, she scored 18 points, half of which came from distance, and grabbed a career-best eight rebounds in a 83-77 setback to West Virginia Tech. On Monday, the former Patriot tallied 14 points in a 61-53 loss to Cincinnati Christian.
The guard is averaging more than 10 points per game for the Bearcats (4-13, 2-5 River States Conference).

South Adams – 2016
Had a career day for the Huntington University women’s basketball team on Dec. 29 in a 79-73 loss to Saint Xavier.
The junior was 7-of-12 from the field and made all five of her free throws to finish with a career-high 19 points, eclipsing the 10-point effort she set Nov. 16.
Coming off the bench to play 24 minutes, In’t Groen also notched eight rebounds for a new career best for the Foresters (11-7, 4-3 Crossroads League).
Whitney Will
Fort Rec. – 2017
Notched a career-high 20 points for the University of Saint Francis women’s basketball team on Dec. 30 in a 75-72 loss to Shawnee State.
The sophomore made eight of her 12 field goals and was 4-of-5 from the line to pass her previous best of 12 points from Nov. 21, 2017. Will also had four rebounds, two assists and a steal in the win for the Cougars (12-7, 4-3 Crossroads League).
She followed with eight points in a 72-54 loss against Taylor on Saturday and tossed in two points Wednesday during a 64-62 win over Grace College.
Sawyer Miller
South Adams – 2015
Won all three of his matches for the Indiana Tech wrestling team as it competed in the NWCA National Duals on Friday and Saturday at Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
The senior beat Austin Plumlee of Cumberland University by a 7-3 decision on Friday as the NAIA No. 2 Warriors got a 27-12 victory. Later that day, Miller pinned Edward Barratt of Southeastern in 2 minutes, 7 seconds, helping Indiana Tech to a 38-10 win.
On Saturday the former Starfire, who is ranked second at 125 pounds, topped No. 16 Devaughn Sapien by a 7-4 decision in the Warriors’ 25-13 loss to No. 7 Life University.
Tyler Leonhard
Jay County – 2017
Went 2-1 for the Manchester University wrestling team as it competed in the Chicago Duals on Dec. 29.
The sophomore needed sudden victory to beat Delmontae Davis of Dubuque, 7-6, in their 184-pound match. The Spartans went on to win, 37-12.
Leonhard then lost by major decision at 174 pounds to Juan Quiroz as Manchester fell to Harper College, 48-7. After that, Leonhard lost by tech fall, 17-1, to Ben Sarasin in Manchester’s 36-18 setback to University of Chicago.
