Nila Rudrow

Nila M. Rudrow, age 78, of rural Portland passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

She was born in Jay County on July 28, 1940, the daughter of Gerald and Mildred (Hinshaw) Kile. She was married May 29, 1958, to Ronald Rudrow, who survives.

She was a lifetime member of Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association, having served as secretary. She was a 50-year member of Pike Farmettes/Pike Friends and Neighbors Home Ec Club, served on Pike Township Election Committee and was a notary public. She was a 1958 Portland High School graduate.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Ronald; one son, Ronnie Rudrow (wife: Cindy) of Portland; son-in-law Randy Massie of Portland; three grandchildren, Richard Rudrow, Ryan Massie (fiance: Alyson Hickman) and Julie Massie; four great-grandchildren Jenna Acker, Ava Massie, Eathan Acker and Rusty Massie.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Judith Massie.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Harris presiding. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 6 p.m.
