Historical society has new website

There’s a new portal to local history.

Jay County Historical Society recently launched its new website.

The site — jaycountyhistory.org — was created by Craig Frazee and Dynamic Business Solutions via a grant from The Portland Foundation. Historical society volunteers will be in charge of updating the site.



Two honored

Two local students earned honors recently.

Lauren Bruns of Fort Recovery was awarded the Ritz Memorial Scholarship at the University of Findlay for the 2018-19 academic year.

Wes Wenning of Fort Recovery was named to the dean’s list at Ashland University for the fall semester. He is an intervention specialist education major.

Location changed

“Rediscovering Joy,” a support group of widows and widowers, is changing its regular monthly meetings to be held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in Preferred Insurance Center’s meeting room at 809 W. Main St., Coldwater, Ohio.

The change is being made to accommodate a larger group.

The guest speaker at the February meeting will be Jeanette Etzler, owner of Gourmet Gatherings in St. Henry, Ohio.
