James Bubp

James “Jeb” Bubp Jr., age 69, of Portland died Friday, July 12, 2019, at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie following complications from an extended illness.
He was born in Portland on Dec. 29, 1949, the son of James “Pete” and Capitola “Capi” (Armontrout) Bubp. He had worked at J&P Custom Plating for many years. He was a 1968 Portland High School graduate.
Jeb had been active in the Portland community having served on boards for Jay Community Center, Portland Rotary Club, Habitat for Humanity and United Way of Jay County.
Surviving are two sons, Corby Bubp (wife: Jennifer) of Carmel and Christopher Bubp of Seoul, South Korea; one daughter, Julie Hummel (husband: Cameron) of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; his mother, Capi Bubp of Portland; a sister, Lana Ninde (husband: Mike) of Bryant; and six grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place Thursday, July 18, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Boy's Club.
