Marie Flory

Marie O. Flory, age 97, a resident of Portland, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, at her home.

She attended Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene and retired from the Jay Garment Company in Portland. After retirement, she and her husband spent several years in Sebring, Florida.

Marie Flory was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Coldwater, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Flora Smith. She was married in 1941 to Calvin Flory and he passed away in 2001.

Survivors include:

Three grandchildren — Tane Beckman (husband: Steve), Hoagland, Indiana, Kent Bickel (wife: Samantha), Portland, Indiana, and Danielle Bickel (husband: Lee), Long Beach, California

Son-in law — Larry Bickel, Portland, Indiana

Seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren

Several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Bickel, who passed away in 2016.

Visitation for Marie Flory will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Joe Hines will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery.
