The start of school is right around the corner.
Jay School Corporation will hold registration on July 30 and Aug. 1 at all of its school buildings.
Registration on July 30 will run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 6 p.m. The Aug. 1 session will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The first day of school for students is scheduled for Aug. 9.
Hosting program
A “Forages for the Future” program is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry High?School in St. Henry, Ohio.
The program will include discussions about best practices, alfalfa variety selection and establishment, weed control, harvesting and feeding considerations. Presenters include Maurice Eastridge of the Ohio State University department of animal sciences and Mark Sulc and Jeff Stachler of the OSU extension service.

Fun with faeries
Minnetrista in Muncie will host “Faeries, Sprites & Lights” Thursday through Saturday. The event will include a variety of events, including faerie tea parties at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.

Shows scheduled
Charles W. Brown Planetarium at Ball State University in Muncie will host free shows this summer.
The programs “Astronaut” and “Moons: Worlds of Mystery” will be held at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., respectively, on Friday, and Aug. 2 and 9.
Camp set
Patriot Prep, a free preschool summer camp led by Youth Service Bureau, will hold sessions in the coming weeks.
The camp, which is open to 3- through 5-year-olds, is based on the previous Born To Learn camps and the United Way Kindergarten Countdown program. Children will learn about colors, numbers and letters through hands-on experiences, arts and crafts, songs and games.
Sessions will be held July 29 through Aug. 2 in Pennville and Aug. 26 through 30 in Portland. Classes run from 9 a.m. to noon. A parent must attend with their child.

Our Home Family Resource Center is accepting donations for its Mercer County Back-to-School Supply Drive. Items needed include folders, glue, markers, pencils, crayons, paper, erasers, scissors, dry-erase markers, highlighters and earbuds. They will be donated to Mercer County students.
