Joseph Brown

Joseph E. Brown, 77, of Geneva, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, at his home in Geneva, Indiana. 

He was born on Saturday, Oct. 4, 1941, in Muncie, Indiana.  He married Phyllis E. (Manning) Brown on Saturday, Sept. 1, 1962, in Petroleum, Indiana.  Joseph was a 1959 graduate of Geneva High School.

He was a realtor and owned Joe Brown Real Estate. He had been an auctioneer for 60 years.

Joe enjoyed antique cars and trucks and harness racing.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Phyllis E. (Manning) Brown, Geneva, Indiana; son Todd J. (Teresa) Brown, Churubusco, Indiana; daughter Kim J. (Kirk) Weaver, Geneva, Indiana; grandsons Brandon Brown, Huntertown, Indiana, Colten (Casey) Brown, Huntertown, Indiana, Trevor Brown, Churubusco, Indiana, and Caleb Weaver, Geneva, Indiana; and sisters Janet (Evan) Yoder, Kokomo, Indiana, and Judy Sayen, Huntersville, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his father Melvin J. Brown and mother Deloris V. (Oxley) Brown.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva, on Thursday, July 25, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A service to celebrate Joseph’s life will follow at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019, with Chaplain Anita Rediger officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.

Arrangements are being handled by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva.
