Board says thanks for another great fair
To the editor:
The Jay County Fair Association and its board of directors would like to thank everyone for another great fair! The 2019 fair saw several improvements and changes that will be carried over in the years to come. We held a ribbon cutting to reveal the brand-new Farmer’s Building, that revived the central hub of the grounds. We tried new ground entertainment including: tiger shows, magic shows, and an interactive robot. Grandstand entertainment saw several returning shows, but ultimately some new ones such as: country artist’s Josh Turner and LANCO, Full Throttle Monster Trucks, and 45 RPM: a 60’s and 70’s band.
The board of directors is already planning for the 2020 Jay County Fair. We will be expanding our fair to nine days, running from July 10 through 18.
This is in partnership with our new ride company: Amusements of America. We are excited to host a new ride company that will provide the quality of rides Jay County saw with Cumberland Valley. We will also be looking at new events to bring in front of the grandstand to provide the best entertainment for the whole family.
Looking further into the future, the Jay County Fair will be turning 150 years old in 2022! We’ve already began looking at ways to celebrate this as a community. We have several projects that we hope to compete before that milestone (renovated restrooms, front entrance, expanded camping, planting new trees). The Jay County Fair Board welcomes any forms of volunteer work or donations that you may be able to give in the coming years.
We are continuing to work to ensure that Jay County has the nicest facilities in the state.
Thank you once again to the community for another great Jay County Fair, and we’re looking forward to the future!

Jay County Fair Board treasurer
