FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery Eels opened their season Thursday with a home victory against South Adams.
The Indians totaled 630 points to 301 for South Adams.
Makenna Huelskamp, Joelle Kaup, Tiegan Fortkamp and Audra Bubp were all triple winners for the Eels. Cassy Martin and Ross Timmerman each picked up a pair of victories.
Earning single wins were Ava Bubp, Autumn Burk, Paige Fortkamp, Olivia Albers, Sophia Guggenbiller, Shelby Stammen, Drew Backs, Carson Fullenkamp, Jennry Jutte and Lucas Acheson.
South Adams had five swimmers account for three wins each. They were Carissa Zwycki, Johnny Knapke, Kade Cutler, Braylon Schoch and Zach Herman. Lela Cutler, Luelle Schoch, Ava Kinsey, Ireland Shuck, Naomi Knapke, Bennett Hubbard, Blaine Duff and Joel Schwartz all had a single victory.
All-Circuit sweeps
All-Circuit Electrical swept a doubleheader Thursday in Rookie baseball action of Portland Junior League.
It defeated Barnett’s Auto Parts 7-5 and then knocked off Pioneer Packaging 9-2.
Logan Wendel, Benson Armstrong and Bryar Garringer both finished 5-for-6 over the two games. Wendel scored four times and Garringer had four runs. Conner Richmond collected three hits and Kohen Stephens had two singles.
Beck Hough had three hits in the Pioneer loss. Derec Coons and Alex Huntsman had two hits each.
John Osborne, Kendal Glessner and Josh Brown both had a pair of hits for Pioneer.
Inman no-hits Optimist
Inman U-Loc grabbed an 11-3, no-hit victory against Portland Optimist in PJL’s Willie Mays division on Thursday.
Grant Wendel and Joe Geesaman combined to strike out nine batters.
Gavin Byrum had two home runs, a single and scored three times for Inman. NIck Laux and Wendel both doubled and singled, as Freddie Lingo, Carter Hartman and Danton Hanlin all singled.
Jayden Harrell, Dominick Bright and Samuel Wiggins scored once run apiece for Optimist.
Second lifts PG
A six-run second inning carried PG-14 to a 12-9 victory Thursday against the Portland Lions in Portland Junior League’s Willie Mays division.
Rhysin Blowers homered and knocked in five RBIs for PG-14, which got singles from Canyon Nichols and Izzy McAbee. Nick Snow walked three times and scored three runs, while Leighton Brown, Porter Clamme, Brayden O’Brian and McAbee each drew two free passes.
Eli Stockton finished with two walks and a pair of runs for Lions Club. Aryan Montes also scored twice and had one walk.
