Truman Briggs

Truman L. Briggs, age 81, of Pennville passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Bluffton Regional Hospital.

He was born in Jay County on Sept. 24, 1937, the son of George and Marah Martha (Lanning) Briggs. He was married June 25, 1965, to Sarah Fugitt, who survives.

He was retired as a truck driver for LPI. He had also worked at the Portland Police Department, Sheller-Globe, Prudential Insurance and Terry Cycle Sales.

He was a 1955 Pennville High School graduate and member of First United Methodist Church in Geneva.

Surviving are his wife Sarah; three sons, Chris Briggs (wife: Debbie) of Farmland, Buddy Graham of Geneva and David Graham (wife: Ginny) of Markle; one daughter, Barbara Smith (husband: Doug) of Geneva; one sister, Ruth Geesaman (husband: Dewaine) of Albany; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13, 2019, at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Barry McCune presiding. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m.
