Juried art show is open for entries.
The Auglaize/Mercer Center for Arts Place will host its Art Fest Juried Art Show from July 5 through Aug. 16.
The show will feature artists of all mediums and is open to high school students and adults. Pieces must have been completed within the last three years.
Artists can enter up to three pieces, with entry fees of $15 for one, $20 for two and $25 for three. Participants must be residents of Auglaize, Mercer, Van Wert, Allen, Hardin, Logan, Shelby or Darke county in Ohio, or Adams or Jay county in Indiana. Judging is scheduled for June 28.

Teachers meet
Jay County Retired Teachers met June 10 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Dunkirk.
The program was presented by Trent Paxson, who gave an update from Jay County Fair Board. He spoke about recent and foreseeable changes at the fairgrounds.
Glen Priest spoke about legislative issues and Linda Frantz gave the inspiration.
Carnival set
Jay County Retirement Center will host a carnival from 2 to 6 p.m. June 29.
The event will feature a dunk tank with Portland Mayor Randy Geesaman and Jay County Commissioner Mike Leonhard as targets to get soaked. Other attractions will include games, a bounce house, crafts, baked goods and a 50/50 drawing.
