Thank you for celebrating Vicki's life
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
A very nice weather day Saturday, June 1, for the Celebration of Life for Vicki Lynn Tague.
I thought it was very well attended. Vicki would have been humbled and proud of all the friends, co-workers, committee and board personnel, relatives and others that came to share a last moment and reflection on her very remarkable, wonderful life.
There are so many people to thank that if I start I know I will forget some of them. You know who you are and in your heart I am sure that Vicki will remain a very pleasant memory. She will never leave my heart and mind.
If I have not thanked you or recognized your help, influence, guidance, input, understanding and encouragement to her in all things, then I will thank you from the bottom of my heart now.
There are not enough words to express just how great and remarkable she was, in all things she did, and everything she accomplished. I wish my vocabulary was better so I could express exactly how I feel. It is beyond description. Wow, do I need her to proofread my letters now.
It has been a very sad, hard and frustrating two years dealing with all the problems Vicki had. However, she went on with her life keeping up an appearance as if nothing much was wrong. She had the will and fortitude to press on no matter what the problem.
I feel she accomplished a lot of what she wanted to do for the city, county, state and people in general. Always looking for ways to improve and better anything she was associated with. Never rested on her laurels. Always, always thinking and pressing onward. Strived to make her office a warm, welcoming, place for people to greet and conduct business or enjoy a face-to-face pleasant conversation. She was an excellent example of how Rotarians strive to live their motto “Service Above Self.”
One thing that really upset her was the inability to continue functioning with her many boards and organizations she belonged to. She just was not a person to shirk any duties or responsibilities. Her priority was to conduct herself in the best, most efficient, courteous and businesslike manner possible. That does not mean she would not try to have a little fun if the situation warranted it.
I know that I have been very lucky and privileged to have met and married a person of such outstanding moral character.
I am sure that her parents, Joe and Imogene Grisell, are very proud of their daughter. A lot of Vicki’s traits came from her parents. They raised her in a manner that would benefit anyone associated with her.
Thank you Vicki Lynn, for everything, till we meet again.
Your loving husband,
