PENNVILLE — Another week of soccer, another player scoring in double digits.
Collin Myron scored 13 goals on Saturday, helping the Scorpions knock off the Bees 24-2 in the third week of play for the Pennville Soccer League.
Liam Thompson notched 11 goals in week two, and Olivia Hoffacker had 20 in the season opener.
Willow Riley and Oscar Pauley scored four and three goals respectively to support Myron in the win.
Thompson had seven goals Saturday, leading the Yellow Jackets to a 16-3 win against the Fire Ants in the Stinger division.
Alivia McClain (six goals) and Colton Coons (three) also scored for the Yellow Jackets. LaVaughn Hart’s three goals were the only scoring for the Fire Ants.
In the same division, Carsten Penrod tallied six goals and Jax McClain finished with three for the Wasps in their 13-1 win against the Spiders.
McClain and Penrod then tallied three goals each in a 6-2 victory over the Hornets later in the day.
The Space division saw Kendrick Teegarden record four goals as the Asteroids downed the Stars 6-2.
Jacoby Penrod and Alexander Sorg each registered a hat trick as the Jaguars shut out the Panthers 9-0 in their Wildcat matchup.
The Jaguars moved to 5-0 on the year to keep hold on first place in the division.
In all, 36 players totaled 97 goals.
Optimist wins big
Portland Optimist got a lopsided 22-3 win against Display Craft in the Rookie softball division of Portland Junior League on Friday.
Madysen Taylor had a home run and two singles for Optimist. Kamzy Johnson also homered and added a single. Ali Clark finished with four singles, Alexa Ridenour had a double and two singles and Gabi Miller notched three singles and three runs.
Jaylee Twigg registered two hits and a run for Display Craft. Emery Forthofer, Chloe Yates, Reva Ballard and Kenzlea Bents had one hit each.
