Three players homered for Barnett’s Auto Parts as it outlasted Williams Auto Parts 20-19 Monday in Portland Junior League’s Rookie baseball division.
Varen Ridgway, Kendall Glessner and Finn Hemmelgarn all had homers in the Barnett’s win. Ridgway scored three runs and knocked in three RBIs. Oakland Ingram notched three hits and four RBIs, and John Osborne collected two hits and drove in four runs. Brayden Keihn tallied three runs.
Jace Vance and Jaxier Casillas each hit a home run in the loss for Williams. Casillas finished with three RBIs and Vance registered two RBIs. Easton Sprunger chipped in three runs.
Reynolds paces Pak-A-Sak
Cooper Reynolds had a stellar offensive day in pacing Pak-A-Sak to a 15-2 victory against Pioneer Packaging on Monday in Rookie baseball action.
Reynolds had an inside-the-park grand slam as one of his three hits, finished with seven total RBIs and scored three times for Pak-A-Sak. Eli Homan, Sawyer Young and Tyce Foreman recorded three hits and three runs apiece. Casy Reynolds added two hits, a run and an RBI, and Foreman recorded a pair of RBIs.
Optimist hangs on
Portland Optimist hung on to beat PG-14 by a 13-12 margin on Monday in their Willie Mays contest.
Dominick Bright hit a triple, walked twice and scored two runs in the Optimist win, and Carson Busick chipped in a double, two walks and two runs. Shawn Harrell finished with two singles and a team-high three runs. Jayden Harrell also had a single. Max Klopfenstein, Hayden Ison and Dougie Cox had two walks apiece.

Berne gets win
First Bank of Berne got an 11-2 win over Jay County Therapeutics on Monday in the Minor softball division.
Natalie May hit at triple in leading Berne to its victory. Rose Carter and Hannah Hayes each hit doubles, while Emily Young notched a singled.
Opal Garrett and LJ Wagner both scored a run in the setback for Jay County Therapeutics.
