Students from Jay County and the surrounding area will have their work featured in a new exhibit.

The annual Regional Student Art Exhibit will go on display beginning Friday at Arts Place, 131 E. Walnut St., Portland.

The exhibit, titled “Creativity is Intelligence” will be on display through April 14. It features work by students from 13 schools.

An opening reception is scheduled for 4 p.m. March 21.



Park offering

Oubache State Park will host its Lunch Nature Program series at noon Thursday.

Anyone is welcome to join the carry-in lunch at the lodge recreation building at the park at 4930 E. Indiana 201, Bluffton. Thursday’s program will be “A Healthy Approach to Hiking/Walking” with Shirley Drier of Choice Rehabilitation in Decatur as the speaker. The main dish and table service will be provided.

To perform

Fort Wayne Philharmonic will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne.

The philharmonic will perform Beethoven’s 9th Symphony: An Ode to Joy. It will be accompanied by vocal soloists, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Chorus, Fort Wayne Children’s Choir and Ball State University Choirs.

Tickets are $22 and are available at fwphil.org.



Registration set

Fort Recovery pre-school registration for 2019-20 is scheduled for 7 p.m. March 26 in the elementary/middle school auditeria.

Those attending will need to bring their child’s birth certificate, immunization record and Social Security card. The child does not need to attend. For more information, call (419) 375-4131.
