Celebration to be held April 6

A Jay County teacher’s work will be part of a Blackford County anniversary celebration.

Blackford County Arts Center will host a six-year anniversary celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. April 6 in conjunction with an opening reception for the Kathy Ayers exhibit “Voyages Near and Far.”

Ayers, an art teacher for Jay School Corporation, will have works in oils and acrylics on display from her extensive travels.

The event will also include entertainment by Windsong Flute Ensemble.

Taste scheduled

The annual A Taste of Muncie event is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. March 31 at Cornerstone Center for the Arts.

General admission tickets are $20 in advance. They will be $25 on the day of the event.

Enrollment set

Kindergarten enrollment for Jay School Corporation will be held April 2 at Bloomfield Elementary School, April 3 at Redkey and Westlawn, and April 4 at East. Doors will open at 8:45 a.m.

Students are welcome to attend the events at Bloomfield, Redkey and Westlawn and participate in a separate program while their parents are handling enrollment. Because of the number of students expected, parents are asked not to bring children to the enrollment session at East.
