Elvin Rees
Elvin L. Rees, 90, of Redkey, Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 2, 2019, at his residence.
Elvin was born in Redkey, Indiana, on Jan. 21, 1929, a son of the late Martha (Bicknell) and Arthur Rees. He was the husband of Pat (Wingate) Rees, who he happily married on Jan. 9, 1949, and sadly lost on Feb. 13, 2001.
Elvin served in the Army National Guard and was a mold maker for Ball Incon until his retirement.
He was a member of the Dunkirk Moose Lodge and Local #115, and was a longtime Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and Purdue Universtiy basketball fan.
Elvin is survived by a son, Ned Rees (wife: Linda); two daughters, Dianna L. Baugher and Karen A. Rees; sister-in-law Martha Rees; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Pat; two brothers, Melvin and Kenneth Rees; five sisters, Velma Claycomb, Wilma Grissom, Doris Holloway, Ruth Ann Zent and Dorothy Rees (during infancy).
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey, Indiana.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel.
