Jay County Public Library is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad this month.
On Saturday, visitors to the library will be able to play the “Ticket to Ride” cross-country train adventure board game from 2 to 4 p.m. Then at 6 p.m. Tuesday, folk singer Adam Miller will host a sing-along concert of “Folksongs of the Great American Railroad.” And a STEAM lab for children ages 8 and older featuring wooden Civil War-era trains is scheduled for 9:30 to 11 a.m. May 25.
And at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Patty Johnson will lead a “Making Old Things New Again” seminar. She will share her ideas for reviving old furniture and other items.
Performing
Swiss Village will host John and Katie Sipe in concert at 7 p.m. tonight
The couple performs southern gospel, contemporary and classical hymns in addition to original songs. They previously toured as part of The Sipe Family in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

Ivy Tech Community College will hold four express enrollment sessions at its Muncie campus, 4301 S. Cowan Road, in May.
Sessions are schedule for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 23 and 30, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 21. Students cab received help with applications, financial aid, registration and scheduling.
Registration is currently open for the summer and fall semesters.

Adams Memorial Hospital has received a grant allowing it to provide free mammograms for area residents.
Women with an income of less than 150 percent of the federal poverty level will be eligible to receive a free mammogram and diagnostic interpretation at the Decatur hospital. The service is available to residents of Adams, Jay, Wells and Allen counties and is being paid for by a grant from the Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust.
Call the hospital’s central scheduling department at (260) 724-2145, extension 11045, to determine eligibility and to schedule an appointment.
